Upgrading our New Zealand Domains
We have upgraded our New Zealand Domains which enables us to automate the generation of reminder notices. Reminders will now be sent 60 days, 30 days and 15 days.
If you pay a New Zealand domain renewal you should go to http://payment.nzservers.com/ to record the payment. This will help us to track the payment made.
Credit card Transactions
We have also upgraded how we process credit card transactions.
Any credit card information submitted via a secure connection is captured then split two ways. A credit card is made up of 16 digits. The outer 2 x 4 digits of the credit card is captured to a database. The inner 2 x 4 digits of the credit card is sent via email. The link between the two sets is made via protected secure connection using a reference ID. Once the partial information has been retreived the information is then cleared off the web.
This means we do not store complete credit card information on the web. In the unlikley event of the web database being hacked the parrtial information is useless.
We have also upgraded our EFTPOS terminal to comply with the latest security requirments.
Where is the credit card information stored? The information is stored on a local computer protected by a firewall, which requires a password to access the information.
