| 1. Any Moisture is Dangerous.Do not let any moisture get into your LCD Monitor. If moisture is observed wipe it off gently with a soft cloth before powering on your monitor. If moisture has gotten into the LCD Monitor, leave the monitor in a warm area until the water has had a chance to evaporate. Applying current to a LCD Monitor with moisture in it can cause the electrodes to corrode leading to permanent damage. 2. Properly Clean Display Surface.Remove any stains on the LCD screen surface by gently wiping with a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of non-ammonia, non-alchohol glass cleaner. Do NOT spray directly on the screen. Cleaning liquid dripping into the LCD Monitor can short out the screen. 3. Fragile!Avoid Strong Shocks and Vibrations. If you already own an LCD monitor it is probably the most delicate piece of electrical equipment you have in your home or office. Your LCD Monitor contains many glass or otherwise sensitive electronic components. Dropping or other strong impacts may cause damage to the LCD screen and the CFL unit. Also, be careful not apply pressure to the LCD display surface. 4. Sudden Temperature Change Causes Condensation. Ever notice when you go to a restaurant that there's water forming on the outside of your cold drink? That of course is condensation and it is due to the temperature difference between the inside of the glass and the outside. Condensation or moisture produced by sudden temperature changes may damage the polarizer or render a LCD screen inoperable. Take precautions to avoid sudden changes in ambient temperature 5. Prevent Screen 'Burn-in'.Remember this about CRTs? Well it still holds true for LCD screens. Failure to turn off or reduce the screen brightness can cause screen 'burn-in'. This is a permanent condition so be careful. If a fixed pattern is continuously displayed over a long period of time, certain LCD pixels can overheat resulting in image 'burn-in'. Prevent screen burn in by: - Turning off screen power when not in use.
- Changing the screen pattern at different intervals.
- Reducing the brightness level to darken screen.
