| VIRUS ALERT NOTICE A new worm virus known as MSBLAST.A is exploiting a recently discovered RPC buffer overflow in Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP and is rapidly spreading to unpatched computers. It spreads by scouting on the DCOM RPC port (TCP 135) of your computer while you are connected to the internet, or a network that contains an infected computer. To clarify the above information, this virus is not spread by email, your computer is vulnerable simply by being on the internet or an infected network. If you or anyone in your organisation are running one of the aforementioned operating systems, it is crucial that you download a patch for your system AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The patches are available here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp We recommend that you update your virus scanner, and run it on your machine to make sure you aren't already infected.
